PROJECT ACTIVITIES

Activity 1

Project Management and Coordination, led by EQUALINE, has ensured the project’s successful execution from start to finish, adhering to EU guidelines and grant terms. EQUALINE effectively handled overall coordination, monitored progress, managed finances, and supported partners throughout the project. Responsibilities were evenly distributed among partners, with each lead partner taking charge of specific activities. Financial management was centralized, with payments made upon reaching key milestones. Newcomer partners were mentored by more experienced ones, fostering a collaborative environment. The project has notably enhanced skills in teamwork and communication.

Activity 2

The project included two key meetings in Greece:

  1. Kickoff Meeting (Month 2): Hosted by Greece (EQUALINE), this meeting successfully defined partner roles, established communication methods, and outlined project tasks. The project’s website, promotional materials, dissemination plan, and evaluation strategy were set up during this session.
  2. Final Meeting (Month 18): Also hosted by Greece, this meeting reviewed the project’s outcomes, promoted its results, and facilitated further networking. Presentations from all partners were delivered, and the event engaged youth workers and stakeholders.

Both meetings effectively enhanced collaboration, built skills, and connected the project with the broader community.

Activity 3

The SAFELINE project successfully commenced with an extensive data collection effort on hate speech and cyberbullying across the EU, focusing specifically on their impact on young refugees and migrants. EQUALINE, in collaboration with AIM, spearheaded this initiative, with each partner contributing research from their respective countries.

The collected data informed the creation of a comprehensive guide detailing definitions, case studies, and methods for addressing online hate and cyberbullying. This guide served as the foundation for a new training module designed to educate youth workers on recognizing and combating these online threats.

The project included the following completed activities:

  • Development of the SAFELINE Toolkit, which integrated both theoretical and practical resources based on the guide.
  • Virtual pilot testing of the toolkit with youth workers, refining its effectiveness based on their feedback.
  • Enhancement of participating organizations’ staff skills in research, data analysis, and communication.
  • Provision of opportunities for young people to contribute to the project and address their needs through European initiatives.

The final toolkit emerged as a valuable resource for youth workers, significantly aiding their efforts to support and empower young individuals affected by online hate and cyberbullying.

Activity 4

The SAFELINE project successfully developed a comprehensive Toolkit based on extensive research into hate speech and cyberbullying. This Toolkit, designed to enhance Digital Media Literacy, Information Improvement, and Data Privacy, has been instrumental in educating both youth workers and young people about online safety and the impact of digital behavior.

Key features of the completed Toolkit include:

  • Understanding media platforms
  • Fact-checking and addressing fake news
  • Internet safety and data privacy
  • The business side of media, such as clickbait and microtargeting

uDevelop, leveraging its expertise in non-formal education methods, led the creation of the Toolkit with AC co-leading to gain valuable experience. The project partners collaborated to ensure the Toolkit addressed the needs of target groups, including overcoming language barriers encountered by refugees and immigrants.

The development process involved thorough audience research, virtual pilot testing with youth professionals, and collection of feedback to refine the Toolkit. The final product is available both as a physical and digital resource, effectively empowering youth workers and young people, expanding their networks, and enhancing their digital skills.

Activity 5

The open-access e-learning platform has been successfully launched to host and share the training resources developed through the project. This platform is Web 2.0 compliant, featuring integrated social media tools and full mobile accessibility. Managed by EQUALINE and co-supervised by AC, the platform has effectively enhanced digital literacy and promoted social inclusion by offering essential resources and fostering a supportive community for youth workers. It provides valuable tools for skill development and networking, significantly empowering users and broadening their professional and social connections.

Activity 6

The dissemination plan for the SAFELINE project has been successfully executed, including the following key actions:

  • Visual Identity: A cohesive visual identity for SAFELINE was established, aligning with Erasmus+ branding.
  • Website: A project website was created and maintained, offering updates, resources, and information about partners.
  • News Editorials: News editorials were produced and distributed through various channels to keep stakeholders informed.
  • Promotion: SAFELINE was actively promoted at network events and conferences to increase visibility.
  • Social Media: A multi-channel social media presence was managed to engage a wider audience.

Under EQUALINE’s supervision, all partner organizations contributed to these dissemination efforts, enhancing their digital marketing and community engagement skills. The project also successfully organized four Multiplier Events across partner countries, effectively reaching target groups and stakeholders. This approach facilitated network expansion, addressed local needs, and provided youth workers and stakeholders with valuable tools and connections.
